Ribosomes are the sites of protein manufacture.

SER is smooth endoplasmic reticulum which doesn't have ribosomes on its surface with compare to RER.

Hope it helps.........

Answer:

Protiene Synthesis:-

Ribosomes play vital role in protiene synthesis & it acts as a site of protiene synthesis.

Ribosomes' role in translation:-

Theimportant functions of ribosome during translation are as follows.

(a) Ribosome acts as the site where protein synthesis takesplace from individual amino acids. It is made up of two subunits.

The smaller subunit comes in contact with mRNA and forms a proteinsynthesizing complex whereas the larger subunit acts as an amino acidbinding site.

(b) Ribosome acts as a catalyst for forming peptide bond. Forexample, 23s r-RNA in bacteria acts as a ribozyme

SER -( Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum )

  • The main function of the smooth ER is to make cellular products like hormones and lipids. ... It is described as 'smooth' to distinguish it from rough ER, which has ribosomes for protein synthesis on its surface. Each organelle in the cytoplasm of a cell is responsible for performing a certain function
