Frequency refers to the number of occurrences of a periodic event per time and is measured in cycles/second. In this case, there is 1 cycle per 2 seconds. So the frequency is 1 cycles/2 s = 0.5 Hz.

Answer:

All waves, including sound waves and electromagnetic waves, follow this equation. It should be noted that some particular waves have their own specific speeds:

the speed of light and all of the electromagnetic spectrum in a vacuum (in vacuo) is 300,000,000 m/s or 3×108 m/s

the speed of sound in air is 340 m/s
