What is the sum of the mole fractions of all the components in a three component system?

The sum of the mole frations of all the components in three component system = 1
If A, B , C are three components of a mixture, then mole fraction of A in the mixture is no. of moles of A / total no. of moles of A , B and C , similarly mole fraction of B and C will be no. of moles of B or C devided by total moles of all components , if we add mole fraction of all the components , the sum will be 1.

Note that the sum of the mole fractions of all the components of a system must equal 1. Therefore, for a two-component system, X2 = 1 - X1.
