the line touches the circle at an unquie point or there is one and only one point common to both the line and circle...

✴ secant

the line and circle have two common points or a line which intersects a circle at two distinct points...

➡tangent: In geometry, the tangent line to a plane curve at a given point is the straight line that "just touches" the curve at that point.

➡secant: In geometry, a secant of a curve is a line that intersects the curve in at least two points.
