As we already know that the acceleration of gravity on earth (g) is 9.8 m/s where the value of the so called ‘g’ has been observed as “Zero” at the center of the Earth.
As far as we know Earth is spherical in shape; not flat, I believe. So the objects on the surface are feeling a downward pull at every point of the earth. Now, consider an object is moving towards the center of the earth. When the object reaches the exact center of the planet the object will experience no gravitational pull as it is surrounded by the earth from all side. This means, the force from all the direction equalizes themselves at the center.
