What is the value of k in the polynomial x square + 8 x + k if minus 2 is a zero of the polynomial?

Heya !!


P(X) = X²+8X+K


P(-2) = (-2)²+8×-2+K



=> 4 - 16 + K = 0



=> K - 12 = 0


=> K = 12.

f(x) = 0
x²+8x+k = 0
f(-2) = (-2)^2 + 8×-2 +k

4-16+k = 0
k = 12.
