Food like sugar is transported to other parts of the plant through phloem, called translocation. Sucrose is shifted to phloem with the help of ATP. Due to increase in osmotic pressure, water enters into the tissue. Due to this pressure, material moves from phloem to tissue. Due to this difference in pressure, sugar stored in stem or root is transported to buds.
