  • Pressure is the measure of force per unit area.

       It can be written as

       Pressure = force/area

   We will use this formula to derive the SI unit of pressure

  • First of all, we will have to determine the unit of force and area.

       force= mass × acceleration

      unit of force= kg m/s²

      unit of area = m²

     The unit of pressure can be written as

      Pressure= kg·m/s²m²

                   = kg/m·s²

                   =kg·m⁻¹·s⁻²

The unit of pressure will be kg·m⁻¹·s⁻²
