it is a process of reproduction in which any vegetative part of the plant such as root, stem, leaf etc. develops into new plants under appropriate conditions

in guava and sweet potato, it is carried out by root

When reproduction takes place in plant with the help of vegetative parts like stem, root, bud and leaf is called as vegetative reproduction.

e.g.-

Potato- It propagate with the help of buds called 'eyes' present on the steam tubers.

Likewise carrot, beet root, radish perform vegetative propagation with the help of roots.Sugarcane and grasses perform vegetative propagation with buds present on nodes.
