here is ur answer dear.....
wave is nothing but just the way of travelling in the form of crests and troughs.
crest is the upper part of the wave while the trough is the lower part.
wave length is the distance between one crest and one trough.
wave velocity is the speed at which the wave travels.
lambda is another word for wavelength

Wave is a disturbance caused in a medium due to repeated periodic motion of particles of medium from its mean position
Wavelength is distance b/w two successive crests or troughs
Wave velocity-the velocity associated with wave is called wave velocity
