ozymandias was a boastful king who believed that he was the most powerful and mightiest. he was also very arrogant, conceited, rude who didn't realise that human life along with power, prestige, riches, etc are not eternal or are immortal. he was so over- proud of himself that he even constructed a statue for himself thinking that even after his death people will remember him and also the rulers of coming generations will see that they can't surpress his glory and power. but it does not happen as his wish....

Ozymandias  was a proud king. He thought about himself so highly, that be build his own statue, and stated in the pedestal that "
"
My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!""

He was very wealthy as well  a strong ruler. But now his statue is broken down. This suggests that no one has any reverence for him in the modern time. Like most of the rulers, Ozymandias wants himself to be remembered for ever. His pride has no bounds. The sculptor  of the statue was very successful in bringing out the kings passion. In the poem it is suggested that, the statue as well as Ozymandias's empire was in a desert region.
