Six's thermometer or maxima-minima thermometer shows the day's maximum and minimum temperatures as well as the current temperature.
It is a U shaped glass tube. It shows max on one side and min on the other side. It has mercury, alcohol and some gas vapour which expand and contract depending on the temperature.
