Once when he was a little boy, Abraham Lincoln (Abe as he was called then) and his friend Dennis Hanks heard the speech of a campaign orator at a political meeting. However, they did not find the orator’s speech impressive. Dennis told Abe that the latter was capable of delivering a far better speech. This prompted Abe to stand on a dry goods box present nearby and address the gathering. The speech was so impressive that everyone listened in rapt attention and gave him an applause at the end.
