Jawaharlal Nehru was a freedom fighter . He was the first prime minister of India. He was an eminent leader and was commonly known as "CHACHA NEHRU" , Nehru was imprisoned (cooped up) nine times during the freedom struggle for India . He almost spent 9 years of his life in jail.
He was sent to jail for disobeying the cruel British administration .
Some of the important dates of Nehru's imprisonment are
- 6th December 1921- 3rd March 1322 - distributing pamplets on Mahatma Gandhi's order. This was the first imprisonment.
- 12th February 1934 - 3rd September 1935 in charge condemning and arguing against terrorist acts and because they spoke against the representative govt. policies.
