Of course character is what matters. Suppose a guy has the boy next door looks but treats people like swines a is hell arrogant, you wouldn't want to be with him. Do you?
On the other hand if there is someone who has average looks but a lovely heart and the ability to stand in others' shoes, he or she will be a taker.
