long ago only upper class people upper caste people were engaged in government jobs and with other big responsibilities of the country all the MP MLA and etc. all were upper caste people only a few of them were from the minorities which today we known as st ,sc ,sebc(socially and educationally backward classes) at that time they were not that much literate and upper caste dominated them in every field. because the lower cast or the sebc people had not much resources. so therefore some reservation was granted for them . so their condition could improve. these days it help them alot all the minorities and poor people they are able to get the government jobs easily if there good enough for it the seats are reserved for them so they just need to do a little bit of hard work and they will get the results as a good career.
