The answer for the question is (D)the inclusion of West Germany in NATO.

Warsaw Pact, also called the The Treaty of Friendship, Co-operation and Mutual Assistance concluded after three days of discussions in Warsaw and created an eastern military counterpart to the western powers’ North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO). However, The Warsaw Pact was not created until 1955, several years after the formation of NATO. From this, it could be understood that the re-arming of West Germany within NATO was a more immediate reason for its formation. In other words, it was a reaction to West Germany becoming an independent nation and joining NATO.

Whereas the prospect of further Communist expansion prompted the United States and 11 other Western nations to form the North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO), the Soviet Union and its affiliated Communist nations in Eastern Europe founded a rival alliance, the Warsaw Pact, in 1955.

The treaty was duly signed by the Soviet Union and seven obedient eastern European states: Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland and Romania.
