Exactly divisible by x² + x - 12?

Let,

      x³ - 6x²- 15x + 80 = A

      x² + x - 12 = B

Now in such questions, where A is not completely divisible by B, how can we make it exactly divisible?

Just divide A by B and the remainder we get is the required term.

Here,

Divide,  x³ - 6x²- 15x + 80 by x² + x - 12

\frac{x^{3}-6x^{2}-15x+80 }{x^{2}+x-12 } = 4x-4

4x - 4, is the term which should be subtracted from x³ - 6x²- 15x + 80 so that the result is exactly divisible by x² + x - 12.
