Solution :-

There is a mistake in this question. I think the appropriate question should be like this.

What number is that of which the third part exceeds the fifth part by 4.

Let the required number be x

x/3 =  x/5 + 4

x/3 - x/5 = 4

Taking the LCM of the denominators and then solving it.

(5x - 3x)/15 = 4

2x/15 = 4

2x = 15*4

2x = 60

x = 60/2

x = 30

So, the required number is 30.
