THE MAIN PROBLEMS WERE
1 A LONG DECLINE OF EXPORT OF TEXTILES IN INDIA
2 PRODUCED BY MACHINES AT LOWER COSTS , THE IMPORTED COTTON GOODS WERE SO CHEAP THAT THE WEAVERS COULD NOT EASILY COMPETE WITH THEM.
3 THEY COULD NOT GET SUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF RAW COTTON OF GOOD QUALITY

Their export market collapsed and their local market shrank being glutted with Manchester goods.
The machine made goods were so cheap that the cotton weavers could not easily compete with them.
With the start of World War their situation worsened.
As USA turned away it's supplies for Britain,Britain turned to India.
India was called upon to supply British needs.
As prices of raw cotton shot up
weavers were forced to buy raw cotton at exorbitant prices.
