As per teachings of the third Guru of Sikhism, "Guru Amardas ji", he brought about multiple changes in the lives of people via his teachings.

He brought about marriage related reforms,

1- He brought about intercaste marriages,

2-He allowed that widows could remarry

3-He also finished off the process or ritual of sattee( in which a widow wife gets burned at the stake with her husbands dead body)

He introduced the reforms on Death, Birth, and Marriage ceremonies in the society. He did many works to exterminate “Sati System” and “Widow Remarriage”. He demolished “Parda System” for women and gave them equal level in society. He protected the rights of women and prohibited the female-foeticide."
