There’s two answers.
If you’re talking about LEGAL responsibilities: None whatsoever.
As long as they don’t blatantly falsify facts about specific individuals (which would be considered libel/slander) news outlets could spin and focus any way they want. They have freedom of speech so they can’t really be interfered with.
If you’re talking about PERSONAL responsibilities: A LOT.

They have the responsibility of reporting the news, not pushing their liberal agenda. This starts with telling the truth and telling the whole story. Sadly, that disappeared in the mainstream media a long time ago and I don’t see it ever coming back. Fox used to do a decent job of it but they are moving rapidly to the left also.

They are free to say ANYTHING they like.
But if they want me to listen, and better yet PAY for their opinions and/or analysis and/or statements of fact… then these have to be based in fact.
All I see or hear coming from all the media now, INCLUDING FOX is liberal drivel not fit for print.
For the last couple decades the media has been puking all over the people they claim to serve.
They have a freedom to print,.. I fortunately have the good sense not to believe them.
