A freely falling body exhibits uniform acceleration motion. The motion of the body is said to be accelerated. As the motion of body under gravity(that is free fall) is an example of uniformly accelerated motion. Thus,if a body falls ,freely under gravity its velocity increases at the rate of 9.8m/s^2 starting at rest, after one second the velocity will be 2 x 9.8=19.6m/s^2 and so on.....
Hope my answer will help you
