There are 300 billion neurons in elephant's brain, some of the types  of neurons are:

  1. spindle neurons-spindle neurons regulates the emotional state in elephant. these neurons allow rapid signalling across the large brains of great apes,elephants and cetaceans.
  2. pyramidal neurons- pyramidal neurons deals with  quick reactions to environmental stimuli. the overall length of pyramidal neurons dendrites in elephants is about the same as in humans
