When electric current is passed through water, it decomposes to give hydrogen and oxygen gas.
2H2O(l) -------> 2H2(g) + O2(g).
Water --------> Hydrogen + water (when Electric current is passed through it).
This process is known as "Electrolysis of Water".
Mainly it is Decomposition reaction.
