Miss. Sullivan arrived in March , 1887. Helen had guessed from her mother's signs that someone was coming. She was waiting as a ship waits for the fog to clear out in the middle of the sea. She wanted light and knowledge. Miss Sullivan came and taught her the word D-O-L-L. It is to be noted that while Helen waited somewhat in anger and anticipation, her teacher came and cleared away both the emotions. Later in life their companionship grew beyond a "student-teacher" relation. They travelled together and kindled the bond of sisterhood. After the illness which Helen tiffin blind her parents went to meet Dr Chisholm ,an eye,ear ,nose and throat specialist in Baltimore . He put them in touch with Alexander Graham Bell who work with deaf children will advise them to contact the perkins institution for the blind .
This institution send miss Anne Sullivan as helen's instructor the event full day on which miss Sullivan was to arrive Helen for that something unusual was going to happen .
