Tombstones didn't intrigue Jerome .Unlike Harris, Jerome had no hankering after tombstones For him the tombstones had macabre associations. Going to churchyards gave him creepy feelings. However, if ever impelled to visit a churchyard, he preferred visiting his family graveyards. Harris, on the contrary, reveled in tombs, graves, and epitaphs, and monumental inscriptions.
