The queen of Jhansi, Rani Lakshmi bai became a bitter enemy of the british as she came under the cause of Doctrine of Lapse after this incident she revolted against the british and became a supreme symbol of Indian Nationalism. Joining the uprising against the British, she rapidly organized her troops and assumed charge of the rebels in the Bundelkhand region.
