Rutherford's model of a atom stated that the electrons revolve at high speeds around the nucleus however it was objected that the electrons will slowly lose energy and fall into the nucleus but as far as we know matter existed all around us so the theory was discarded however Neils Bohr stated that the electrons had some specific energy at specific orbitals and didn't lose energy while revolving around the nucleus and remade the planetory model with these orbitals
