Women play a very important in every society; they serve multitude roles such as mother, daughter, sister, wife etc. Therefore, the government of India launched various schemes to empower women in-cluding, "Sakshar Bharat mission for female literacy", "SABLA-Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empower-ment of Adolescent Girls" etc. Following is the example of the initiative taken by the central govern-ment of India for women empowerment:
Sakshar Bharat mission for female literacy: This scheme was launched by the Prime Minister of India on the International Literacy Day, 8th September 2009. This mission aims to provide education to those adults especially females, who have lost the opportunity of access to formal education and now feel a need for education of any type.
