Effects of 2 world wars on the forests.
1) Due the two world wars the trees of forests were cut heavily to meet the war needs. In India, colonial government cut down trees to meet their war needs.
2) Many local communities used the war as an opportunity to expand cultivation and hence they cut the forest.
3) when Japan occupied Indonesia, the Japanese exploited the forests recklessly for their own war needs, forcing the villagers to cut down trees.
4) In Java, Indonesia, the Dutch followed the scorched earth policy by destroying saw mills and burning teak logs so that it would not fall into Japanese hands.
5) Colonial government cut down trees and used the timber to strengthen their naval power by making war ships so that they could use the war ships during the world wars.
