It was led by Mahatma Gandhi after the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and lasted from 1920 to February 1922. ... Gandhi feared that the movementmight lead to popular violence. Thenon-cooperation movement was launched on 1 August 1920 and withdrawn in February 1922 after the Chauri Chaura incident.
