What were the challenges faced by Indian weavers in 19th century

•They couldn't get sufficient supply of raw cotton of good quality.

•When the American Civil War broke out, the cotton supplies from the US were cut off. So Britain turned to India.

•Weavers were starved of supplies and were forced to buy cotton at heavy price. Weavers couldn't pay.
