What will be the energy shared in the spring at the instant when the 10 kg mass has acceleration 12 m/s2 if two masses 10 kg and 20 kg are connected by a massless spring. A force of 200 n acts a 20 kg mass?

Consider masses A and B of mass 10kg and 20kg.

As per the question,

The acceleration of A is 12 m/s²

Thus Acceleration of 10kg mass =12m/s²

Force acting on A is ma

Force=ma

F=10x12=120N will act .

Force acting on B given as 200 N.

Since, both are connected by spring, so the net force acting on B = Force on B - Force on A

Net force on 20kg mass will be :

200N-120 N=80N

a=F/m

=80/20

=4m/s²

∴ The acceleration of 20kg mass is 4m/s²
