Hello!!

When a fully turgid plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, water moves out, first from cytoplasm and then from vacuole. Cell membrane shrinks away from the cell wall. This phenomenon is known as plasmolysis.

When a plant cell is placed in hypertonic solution that means it becomes hypotonic with respect to the medium in which it is placed and as a result cytoplasm(H2O) will come out of it and hence the cell will shrink.
