What will happen to plants if its xylem is removed

Swayze: Xylem is a tissue which, if removed from the plant, will stop the movement of water from the roots upwards.

This will deprive the different parts of plant from water.

The plant will die eventually.

If the xylem of a plant is removed it will not be able to transport water from the roots to all parts of the plant and thus the plant will wilt and finally die.

Xylem is the vascular vessel which transports water from the root to the leaves where it is used for the process of photosynthesis. In the absence of xylem, water will not reach the leaves and thus, photosynthesis won't take place for it needs 6H2O. As a result the plant wilts and dies.

Hope it helps☑
