If there were no nitrogen in the air then burning would become very rapid and easy. The ignition of fire would become normal due to the pure oxygen present in the air in the absence of nitrogen. Moreover due to excessive and pure oxygen, the metals would be liable to rapid corrosion and would tarnish easily.
