The problem mostly caused by excessive use of fertilizer is leeching. Here the chemical pesticides/ingredient gets mixed in underground water and that makes the water based contaminated and adverse for human health.
Nitrogen fertilizers breakdown into nitrates and move easily through the soil.
As it is water-soluble and can endure in groundwater for eras, the addition of more nitrogen over the years has an avaricious effect.
