What would happen if cell sap in the cells has high concentration of ions?

If the concentration of ions in cell SAP of Root hair is increased then it will become hypertonic and the water from the surrounding soil will enter in the cell. The less water is potential for inside the cell and the high water is potential for inside in the soil.
