during a tornado or hurricane, when high speed winds blow over a straw ot tin roof,it creates a low pressure. However, the pressure below the roof is still atmospheric. So due to this diifference of pressure ...........

the tin will fly off
because the velocity over roof is high and hence pressure is low.on the other hand velocity of wind under roof is low so the pressure is high
according to Bernoulli's therom air flows from high pressure to low pressure
so the pressure under the roof will make it fly
