That is because the lysosome is responsible for digesting bacteria within a cell. For example, once a white blood cell surrounds a bacterium, the lysosomes digest that bacteria. According to Beyond Books, lysosomes “are sometimes called 'suicide sacks' because they are responsible for autolysis.”

lysosomes are also know as housekeeper of the cell. it means if any stranger things like bacteria and other harmful substance enter in cell then lysosomes kill them. Hence if an organism if it lost its lysosomes the cell will damage. Besides this there are more characteristics of lysosomes which are shown in the diagram.
