when zinc pieces are added to copper sulphate solution there is loss of the blue colour. However when some copper kisses are placed in ferrous sulphate solution there is no change in colour. And iron nail when introduced in blue copper sulphate solution blue colour gradually fades

Explanation:

  • copper is less reactive as compared to iron and Zinc. As a result Singh has the capability to displace copper from its salt solution.
  • As a result when zinc pieces are introduced in blue copper sulphate solution there is a change  when copper pieces are thrown into green ferrous sulphate solution Then there is no reaction due to the non reactivity of Copper.
  • iron nail when placed in blue copper sulphate solution iron displaces copper.
