When 50 gram of salt is dissolved in 10 ml of water there is no increase in volume what characteristics of matter is illustrated by this observation?

This observation illustrates the law of conservation of mass which states that:

"mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction."

so, when 10 ml of salt and 50 gram of salt is combined, then the amount of its constituent particles (salt and water) remains the same before and after the reaction and hence the amount of mixture is the sum of amount of its constituent particles.
