Let us total amount be Rs. x.

amount distributed among 14 boys, each will get Rs. x/14.

amount distributed among 18 boys, each will get Rs. x/18.

So according to question,

x/14 = x/18 + 80

x/14 - x/18 = 80

18x - 14x/252 = 80

4x = 80 x 252 = 20160

x = 20160/4 = Rs. 5040. is the answer.
