When you're traveling in a bus you're in inertia of motion.when the bus is in motion, the body of passenger is also in motion. when the breaks are applied, the bus stops but the body still remains in motion for a fraction of second because of inertia (newtons 1st law -a body is in rest or motion until an external force is applied on it.)

thats why, the bus stops suddenly but for a fraction of second the body remains in motion (keeps going forward) so body falls forward.

As brakes are applied the lower part of the body comes to rest with the bus but the upper part continues to move. So a person falls in forward direction in a bus.

HOPE IT HELPS
