Here is your answer:

When copper carbonate which is green in colour is heated strongly, it turns into cupric oxide which is black in colour. Carbon dioxide is also liberated. Here is the reaction:
CuCO3 ----› CuO + CO2
Cupric carbonate ----› Cupric oxide + Carbon dioxide.
