Dear Student,
◆ Conditions for defined interference pattern -
- Two light sources must be coherent.
- Light sources must be monochromatic.
- Superposition of ligjt waves is a condition.
- Intensity of light sources must be same.
(i) For two light waves to interfere constructively -
- Two light waves must be in same phase.
- Path difference between corresponding particles must be nλ.
(ii) For two light waves to interfere destructively -
- Two light waves must be in opposite phase.
- Path difference between corresponding particles must be (2n-1)λ/2.
Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
