When 1 unit force is applied to cover 1 unit displacement is called 1 unit work done

Multiply the units from the right hand side of the work equation:

W=[Newton] *[Meter]=[Newton*Meter]

From the above calculations, we can see that the SI units for Work is Joules since Joules=Newton*Meter
