When sulphur burns in air, it combines with the oxygen of air to form sulphur dioxide gas. is it acidic in nature

Yes. It is acidic in nature and I only responsible for acidic rain which leads to the decolouring of monuments and even leads to skin cancer to humans.

yes it is acidic in nature
any non metallic oxides are generally acidic in nature
and metallic oxides are generally basic in nature

but aluminum and zinc have both acidic and basic oxides so they are called amphoteric oxides.
