Logistic regression is often used when the DV is categorical and the IVs are continuous.

Logistic regression:

• When observed outcome of dependent variable can have multiple possible types then logistic regression will be multinomial.

• Logistic regression may be binomial, multinomial or ordinal. If there are two possible outcomes, then logistic regression will be binomial and if there are multiple possible outcomes then it will be multinomial.

•  Logistic regression lets one look at multiple predictors and at constant predictors.
